The temperature was in the 60’s and a perfect way to start your Saturday.
Date of Beatdown: 2019-05-11
Name-O-Rama: Postal, Saved By The Bell, Grasspatch, Goldberg, Wonton, Champ (2.0 FNG), Good Cents (QIC)
Warm-Up-Gig: One minute warning, disclaimer, pledge, count-o-rama
In honor of Mother’s Day we took a warm up lap while jamming to Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried”.
LBACs, staying with the country theme...Hillbillies, Rockette Hillbillies, tempo squats, Superman/Banana
The Thang That Surely Happened: Partnered up with wall planks and laps up and down stairs (3 reps each) while listening to “Flowers on the Wall” by the Statler Brothers and “It Keeps Right on a Hurting” by Johnny Tillotson.
10 Pull-Ups and 10 Chin-Ups - repeated both exercises. The song of choice was “Please Help Me I’m Falling” by Hank Locklin
While moseying down the road to the bus loop we enjoyed “King of the Road” by Roger Miller
Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” - Plank and bear crawls
Moseyed a little further until stopping for some Lt. Dans - Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line”
While circling the school we made a stop for some Tammy Winettes. We partnered up and “stood by our man” and did 10 deep squats while our partner did 10 hand release merkins. We took turns until everyone completed 50 of each exercise.
Before heading to the practice field, a song was played in honor of Goldberg.....”Funny Face” by Donna Fargo. LOL
We made a Big Ring of Fire of 5 stations: (10 reps at each station) big boy sit-ups, American hammers, wacky jacks, step-ups, & derkins.
It was about this time when Wonton got his nasal strip burned off, beat off, or something. LOL
Finished up with leg raises while being serenaded by Conway Twitty’s “I’d Love to Lay You Down”
Cool Down Stretches
We enjoyed several classic artists throughout the workout - George Jones, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, etc
Circle of Trust: Count-o-rama & name-o-rama
My 2.0 expressed his thoughts of the workout (you had to be there) and was named. Goldberg threw out Champ as his new name and it was agreed upon by all. We asked prayer for several sick, Faceplant, and more.
Announcements: - Updates need to me made to the website regarding AO times
- no Q Source this upcoming week
- Mother’s Day reminder
Moleskin: To go along with Hank William’s song “I’m so Lonesome I could Cry” Proverbs 18:24 was read. We need to show kindness and Christian love to everyone. Even though we may feel alone or down at time we should still be friendly and help others in need. We need to remember that we can cry out to our Great Creator in all times - good or bad.
