Running and Coupons prevent Frostbite

It was freezing, but no one got cold (expect maybe Goldberg who was nursing his knee) thanks to plenty of coupon work after each quarter mile run.

Date of Beatdown:
 2019-11-09

Name-O-Rama:
Postal, Old Bay, Mudslide, Goldberg, Grasspatch, Stuffed Crust (Respect), Gump, and Good Cents (QIC)

Warm-Up-Gig:
One-Minute Warning, Welcome, Disclaimer, and Count-O-Rama

We went up, down, and across several flights of stairs to get the blood flowing.

Performed several warm-up exercises IC: LBACs, Bent Over Seal Claps, Old Man Windmills, TTT, Sprinkler

The Thang That Surely Happened:
We moseyed to the Football Booster Club Parking Lot and everyone got two coupons. Here we did Renegade Row Merkins. We ran the length of the parking lot and back (approx. 150 yards) between several people taking turns leading the cadence. We then ran from the Parking Lot Entrance to the Baseball Field Entrance and back (1/4 mile) to begin a new exercise. We kept this pattern throughout while changing coupon exercises at our base. Each person took a turn leading the designated exercise. The coupon exercises were Dead Lifts, Curls, Elf on the Shelf, Straight Arm Coupon Twists, and Goblet Squats. We returned our coupons and moseyed back forthe COT. Concluding stretches were Low Plank Twists and High Plank Calf Stretches. The mumblechatter hit a new level hear and I was surprised that we finished perfectly on time.

Circle of Trust:
 Count-O-Rama and Name-O-Rama

Prayer Requests/Praises – Devotion – Closing Prayer

Ephesians 5: 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

(Following the devotion I gave each present HIM a copy of this article I recently found)

Washing my wedding ring:

So this morning I was cleaning my wedding ring, I do it about once a week or so. I have this extra tooth brush that I clean it with set aside in the bathroom for when I need it. I got to thinking about how cleaning my wedding ring kind of symbolizes a healthy marriage for me. I’m a guy, a “guys” guy at that. My hands stay constantly banged up and dirty. I work on cars, they get cut. I work on the yard, they get dirty. My ring bares the brunt of those things as well. That’s why I clean it. Friends have asked why I take the time to clean it when it will probably get dirty and no one will really notice a difference. “You’re the man, no one cares how pretty your ring it”. Here’s the thing. IT DOES MATTER.

Why?

Because every time I clean it, it reminds me of the small things in our marriage I should be doing. When my wife comes home from work have I listened to her day, like really listen. Put down my phone, turn off the tv, and make her day the center of my world listen, so that she feels like her day really matters to me because it does. While we’re lying in bed watching our favorite show at night did I reach over and scratch her back or play with her hair, letting her know “yes we may just be watching a show together but make no mistake, I know you’re next to me and you are the center of my world. Have you stopped by her work lately and brought her a coke, or maybe her favorite candy. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, just something small to let her know “hey I was thinking about you and I thought you would like this”. See you don’t just “fall out of love” one day when you wake up. It happens over time, because you stopped doing the little things, you stopped courting her (that by the way shouldn’t stop once you marry, that should enhance) you stopped trying to impress. Every day I wake to my wife, I pretend she is a stranger that I am madly in love with and think “how today can I make her fall in love with me”

The small things matter gentlemen, so yes I will continue to wash my wedding ring....

Pick your Pain KB Escalator

After supper at the Crooked Oak , I grabbed a few coupons from the #F3Republic Trailer. Its not often we get to push iron at the #Anvil.

Since it was the night after a 2nd F late supper, I had some doubts on a big turn out this morning, but gladly I was wrong! Fog settled in on a cool 60deg morning. First PAX (Postal) arrived on foot, as usual. He helped me plan the pain game.

Date of Beatdown:
 2019-11-06

Name-O-Rama:
Postal, Grasspatch, Good Cents, Wonton, Tag Team, and YHC.

Warm-Up-Gig:
Yeah you all know the drill.
#Mumblechatter, show off deer mount, one minute warning, and gas was already building.
Warm up with movement as Q called out exercises.
We are a talented bunch, we move our mouths and arms at the same time.
We kept the conversation going while knocking out Baby Arm Circles, Overhead Presses, windmills, and TTT. Then they got quite on the IC of the following:
30 SSH IC
30 Mountain Climbers
30 Shoulder Taps
25 Imperial Walkers

The Thang That Surely Happened:
Mosey over to the rectangle football parking lot.
Marry yourself to a coupon kettle bell...
Pick your pain: 25lbs - 50lbs
Grab one and carry it with you as we do the following:
Bent Over Rows, Overhead Triceps Extension, LBC's, and Lunges (alt Sumo Squats).
10 of each exercise at first station mosey to next station, add 10 reps to each, until you get to 40.
No lie the last station was a killer for some us, the guy with the 25lb was even complaining!

We learned the 2.5lbs was the heaviest weight in the gym... just ask Wonton.

Back down the escalator and last two levels were PAX Choice: Overhead Press, Dead Lifts, Curls, and Squats

Mosey back with weight to the flag.

One Round of Mary.
3 on Flutter Kicks
1 on Battle Ropes 40 count
1 on curl bar
1 on weighted Big Boys
All PAX make one round through.

 Matthew 14:
6But at a birthday party for Herod, Herodias’s daughter performed a dance that greatly pleased him, 7so he promised with a vow to give her anything she wanted. 8At her mother’s urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!” 9Then the king regretted what he had said; but because of the vow he had made in front of his guests, he issued the necessary orders. 10So John was beheaded in the prison, 11and his head was brought on a tray and given to the girl, who took it to her mother. 12Later, John’s disciples came for his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus what had happened.
Jesus Feeds Five Thousand
13As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns.

When reading this chapter, think of Jesus' perspective on John's death. His best friend dies for no apparent 'good' reason... just because a girl danced and a drunk king ran his mouth...
Imaging Jesus' feelings: His mission was about to go public and he just lost his strongest supporter. Imaging the grief, the anger, and what does Jesus do? He goes into SOLITUDE. Each time we see Jesus go into solitude, He comes out stronger. From earlier accounts, His Solitude is spent with God. He knows where his strength comes from, the Heavenly Father. As a leader, we have to seclude ourselves, get our head on straight, and turn off the outside noise sometimes. We all have to keep #accelerating, in the face of adversity!

I pray you know when you need that time, and know we will be here to support you through it!
Its always an honor to lead!
