“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:1-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Guys as I read this, God's warnings jumped off the page at me. As I have been dealing with some issues in my personal life of ministry, I have been guilty of having a bad or blurred focus by being easily distracted. I hear God challenging us as leaders to be careful where we put our focus (you can insert your #jester here).
God warns us to seek him more than the money we strive to make. Imagine if our efforts were that focused. Would it leave much room for the sin (or selfishness) in our life? The world would surely look a lot different, and we would see more good in the world. It's too easy to spend good energy chasing sin...

However if you really want God's wisdom, align your focus first. Look for the good in your career, look for the good in your friends, look for the good in your church, praise your kids when you see them do the right thing, seek and praise the good in your wife, and search diligently to find God in everything!
It was an honor to lead!
