Overcomer

The 72 degree temperature felt great this morning as 8 PAX overcame each exercise set before us. Since I recently saw the Overcomer movie, that involved a young lady competing in several running contests, I was motivated to include some running competitions this morning.

Date of Beatdown:
 10/09/2019

Name-O-Rama:
Old Bay, Hong Kong Phooey, Rainbird, Wishbone, Wonton, Grasspatch, Blacktop, and Good Cents (QIC)

Warm-Up-Gig:
One Minute Warning, Welcome, Count-O-Rama, and Disclaimer

After briefly discussing the Overcomer movie and the connection to this morning's beatdown, I found out I was the only person in attendance that had watched it. After recommended the movie, we began our warm up exercises.

All were done in cadence to a 15 count

LBACs, TTT, Toy Soldiers, Butt Kicks, Mt Climbers, and wrapped things up with a lap around the parking lot

The Thang That Surely Happened:
Since we normally push ourselves a little harder when we are competing, we divided ourselves into two teams of four.

Race 1 - Group A went to the starting line while Group B went to the finish line. Someone in Group B would say On Your Mark, Get Set, Go - while enjoying the prime spot for the race. The last runner from each completed race would stay with Group B while they enjoyed 10 burpees. The remaining Group A runners would return to the starting line. This process was repeated until the Group A winner beat out his only remaining competitor.

Race 2 - Now Group A and B switch positions. Group B races. Group A does 10 burpees after each race, along with each last place finisher.

Race 3 - Same process, but groups have changed based on the first two races. Now we have Groups C & D - Cheetah (Fast) & Dead Dog (Slow). Group D runs whiles Group C does Peter Parkers.

Race 4 - Group D does Peter Parkers, while we see whose the fastest cheetah.

I actually took a photo finish of the final race and all you could see was a blur of Hong Kong Phooey and Wishbone. However, the last man standing was.....Wishbone!

We finished things up with 50 merkins and 50 Big Boy Sit Ups before doing a few cool down stretches.

Circle of Trust:
 Count-O-Rama and Name-O-Rama

Several announcements and prayer requests were made

Moleskin:
Everyone seemed to have a great time pushing themselves and each other this morning.

1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth Jesus is the Son of God?

I'm thankful to know that I am an overcomer of this world. I recognize that it has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with Jesus, the Son of God, and Him alone.
